Most CPA firms, Part-time Bookkeepers, Remote Controllers, etc. only work for an hourly rate or they have a fee per page filed, or accounting event such as charging by the payroll.  The reason for this is simple, they don't know how long it will take and they don't want the risk of doing anything for free.  What tends to happen in this sort of situation is that you get billed for every little thing you do with your bookkeeping/accountant even talking to them on the phone.

At Plum we charge a FLAT, FIXED monthly fee and you get everything. We will not charge you every time we talk to you or do something for you.  We literally become your company's in house accounting department.
